About Me

My love of music photography started around the age of 17 when I decided to combine my evenings out watching bands with the photography course I was taking at college for one of my final exam projects.  I never dreamed that it could progress to be anything other than a fun hobby, the opportunity to join the photography team at the Village Green Festival in 2014 changed all that and reignited a love of music photography that had lain dormant for too long.  Since then I have become recognised as one of the "go to" music photographers working in the Essex area.  The opportunity to combine my photographic skills and experience with a lifelong passion is something I am grateful for everyday.

2016 allowed me to incorporate my love of comedy into my photography business.  A chance meeting resulted in me being hired to be the official photographer for the Southend Comedy Festival and opened my name up to a whole new area of opportunites.  On this site you will see images of amateur and professional comedians ranging from first timers to seasoned performers.  In Spring 2017 I got the chance to photograph comedy legend Terry Alderton in front of his home-town crowd; and some of these pictures were featured in a film called Comic about Terry's comedy and mental health.  It is had its official UK premier in April 2018.  In 2017 I got to don my Southend Comedy Festival - Official Photographer lanyard again.  In the summer of 2018 the comedy festival became part of the much larger Southend Festival and my services were called for again; I even got a new lanyard :-)

The end of 2018 saw me beginning a new collaboration, working as part of the Southend Theatre Scene team.  STS is a local website which covers the shows and productions which are put on in all the Southend theatres.  This has allowed me to add to my ever growning collection of photo passes and add some more recognisable names to my portfolio.

And then there is the cabaret.  This time a recommendation led to becoming the official photographer for international drag artist Shyanne O'Shea's cabaret shows and collaborator on her promotional shots.  These cabaret shows definitely keep me on my toes both physically and photographically; and they are always fabulous.

I have met and worked with some amazing people in the short time I've been working professionally.  Chinnerys music venue in Southend has become my second home and I see some of the staff there more often than members of my own family.  This summer sees the return of the Village Green festival, which means I get to return to the place where it all started.  I will, yet again, be on the phtoography team and this year get the pleasure to add the Fun Lovin' Criminals and Busted to my collection.  As a long-standing Busted fan I can't wait.  I love my weird and random life here's to whatever the future may hold.
