Question 1

How much makeup, and other prep, should I have done before I arrive at the studio?

Accepted Answer

Queens, make sure all the bits you want shaved are nice and smooth.  Digitally removing body hair is very difficult and not included in the package; this is because the results can be very unpredictable and is very time consuming.  Extra retouching can be added to the package at an extra cost, but if the body hair is over tattoos, this can be impossible to remove successfully.  Alternatively, embrace the hairy look or carefully consider your wardrobe choices to hide the hair you don't want seen.Although these sessions have been specifically tailored for the needs of a drag performer, time and space at the studio is still limited.  I don't want you to feel rushed or pressured; it is best that you take your time over your make up at home and have most of it done before you arrive.It is also a good idea to remove any socks, watches, jewellery, or anything you don't want in the photos that is likely to leave a mark, well ahead of time as these can sometimes take a while to fade.

What to wear?

You can, obviously, wear what you want but it is important that you plan your outfits ahead of time.  The Drag Package will allow time for 3 - 4 different looks however, if you have them, bring more options on the day.  The Diva Package will be more tailored to specific outfits.  Either way it is a good idea to plan the progression of your looks throughout the session; especially if you are going to change your hair and makeup.  Wear lighter makeup at the beginning and add darker touches as the session progresses.  It isn't necessary to completely glue your wig down, particularly as this may ruin the makeup around the lace for future looks, but a touch of glue around the ears is often advisable to make retouching easier.If you have any last minute ideas please run them by me before the session so that, if necessary, the studio can be prepared.

What do I need to bring with me?

As well as your fabulous outfits you need to make sure you have everything with you that you will require.  Based on experience, I have put together this handy check list.  Ignore any items if inappropriate. ☐ Make-Up (even if just for touch ups) ☐ Mirror ☐ Wigs ☐ Wig Glue ☐ Hair Styling Products ☐ Jewellery Padding/Undergarments Shoes ☐ Any other accessories or props (discussed beforehand) ☐ AND, of course, your Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve & Talent

What will happen on the day?

Arrive at the arranged time, there is no need to arrive any earlier than planned.  You will have time to relax and get ready before stepping in front of the camera.  It to can be a good idea to bring someone else with you.  Someone help you get into your outfits, and be another pair of eyes those check fine details.

How long after the shoot will I be able to view the photos?

Your proof images will be available within 3 working days of the shoot.

How much editing will be done?

Accepted Answer

Once you have chosen the photos you want you will need to let me know. Standard retouching will include skin smoothing and lace removal.  If you have any other requests these can be discussed once you have made your choices.  As this is more intensive editing than a standard portrait it will take approximately 5 working days to get your photos finished (depending on the number of photos you choose).
